Cape town, Western Cape, South Africa
My name is Ricky d.Johnson, a photographer from Bridgetown on the dusty skirts of the Cape flats ,Cape town.Im married with a lovely wife call Melissa Faith Johnson for 5yrs & together we two lovely boys Logan, Israel & one on its way. As long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed the magic and memories that photos are able to create. I love to capture the essence of emotion, to freeze time and be able to revisit memories. I like to take pictures that are meaningful. Pictures that put you in the moment, that allow you to share in the sheer happiness of a special time, take in the excited looks of a child, or even experience the serenity of a peaceful day. I am excited to take this opportunity to share my thoughts and my work. I can only hope that you enjoy my photos as much as I love taking them!

Photo shoot at Rlabs academy

 The photography class of 2012

Well firstly there was an atmosphere of excitement in the air, a buzz and a loads of energy.
The students were excited & at the same time nervous for the shoot that is going too take place at Rlabs academy which is situated in Bridgetown,Athlone,Cape town,South-Africa..

The students were split into various groups and there assignment was that they need to play the photographer for the shoot & at the same time be the model for the shoot. The Rlabs space was turn into a studio where there was onlookers on the set which make the students even more nervous for the shoot..
The space had your white arctic paper as a back drop and two sets of  studio lights.

At first they were nervous however as i took lead to show them how to do it,confidence started to build up in them. and the students started to pose, taking photos & it was going crazy in a good way though, lol.

The objective of the day was for the students to build confidence in them & too excell in what they are passionate about.

Be bless,
Happy memories,
Rj

why im excited about Nokia world 2011

Well one of my main reasons is that im a huge fan of Nokia & i always wanted to know who started Nokia, where does it generate from & how did the name came about?

Secondly, i think its every young person's dream to go to London & especially if you are from the dusty streets of the Cape flats,Cape town, South-Africa where i come from where dreams are shattered due too circumstances however i wont allow my circumstances determine where i want too be in life. It will be an honor to see the Nokia world & just to experience life in London.
It would be something that i can bring home and share my experience with other young people that think that there is no hope for them in this world to fulfill their dreams,I would be an example too them.
Who knows what Nokia world can do too other young or old individuals around the world.
I trust that my post would be considered.Hope too see you in London:-)

My experience @RlabsZA

Since the new space of Rlabs has started, a lot of excitement was in the air. Rlabs is moving into there own space which photos was uploaded on facebook, twitter, on various blogs of the members of the Rlabs team members.
Since the growing of the incubator has started i have been following the progress of the "new space".
And wow!!what a transformation it is,the place look very modern, stunning and  of course, the aroma of lovely coffee in the place.

For the past two days i've been here at the Rlabs space i've learn such alot of social media by just observing of the staff  & what they are putting in this company.I think they key thing at Rlabs is passion, and the passion is that they
create an interaction space for collaborative design, creation, dissemination and application of knowledge
- To develop and empower champions in communities through innovation
- To give hope and make a difference
- To be leaders in innovation continuously adding value

My motto for this particular blogpost is, "you can learn alot by just observing"
